Minimalist Skincare Routine

Hey guys!

I have done a skincare routine post on here in the past but I recently realized that it has changed quite a bit product-wise. Time for an update!

Step 1:
I do wash my face with the ISANA Young anti spot cleanser. I wet my face, apply some product on a face brush similar to this one by for your Beauty which is the drugstore's own brand for beauty tools. (Both items very affordable!) Then I swirl the brush around my face and remove the residue with a damp microfibre cloth. I used to apply my cleanser with just my fingers but I found that the brush adds a nice exfoliating factor that helps my blood circulating in the morning and getting rid of any dead skin cells.

Step 2:
Face cleansed, on to the 3in1 Micellar Water by Garnier. I have tried the light pink version, the green version and am now on this version which is formulated especially anti blemishes. I got on well with all of them but this one is probably most suitable to my skin's needs at the moment, considering that I have suffered from acne for years having gone through some better but mostly unpleasant times. Applied on a cotton pad, I use it as a toner for my face and neck kind of as a preparation for moisturizer and possibly makeup afterwards.

Step 3:
Speaking of moisturizer. I have tried a lot of moisturizers from the drugstore. From anti blemish gels over mattifying creams (as my skin type is oily) to natural cosmetics. At the moment, I'm using the Neurogena moisturizer which is formulated for all skin types and simply adds moisture, that's it. And I have to say, I really like it a lot. The tub lasts for aaages, it sinks into the skin instantly and makes it feel hydrated and not tight or sticky. I apply it to my face and neck like I do with the micellar water because who wants a wrinkly neck early when it's preventable?!

Step 4 (on occasion):
As a last step, I might apply healing ointment or blemish treatment onto the areas of my face that need it in that moment. In case of getting ready to go out into town or to a party, I would continue applying my Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base before putting makeup on. On pamper days or days I feel like my face is in need of special treatment, I'll use a face mask. Sometimes I use ones with clay to clarify, sometimes ones which help hydrating my skin. At the moment, I'm thinking of trying the L'ORÉAL detox mask, which is a clay mask with activated charcoal in it. I have heard that the activated charcoal is very effective against any impurities in the skin so that sounds promising to me! Has anyone of you tried this? Let me know what you think of it! Has it worked for you?

Which products and skin care routines do you use? Any favourite products for me to try out next?
